Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility

The Section of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility of the MCV branch of the Virginia Commonwealth University consists of a fellowship trained, board certified physician in reproductive endocrinology and a dedicated nursing staff. The clinical capabilities of the Section include all infertility services, including reproductive surgery, induction of ovulation, inseminations, and in vitro fertilization (IVF). All infertility services are available 7 days a week. The Section members perform advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures for endometriosis, pelvic pain, uterine fibroids, pelvic adhesions, tubal blockage, and uterine bleeding problems. Other problems such as recurrent miscarriage, polycystic ovarian disease (PCOD), symptoms of menopause, and hyperprolactinemia are also managed by the Reproductive Endocrinology Section.

The Faculty of the Reproductive Endocrinology Section are involved in both basic science and clinical research projects that are funded by several sources including the National Institutes of Health. These research projects include investigation of infertility associated with PCOD and menopause therapies.
