A native of Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Stephen Cohen received his undergraduate education at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia and his medical degree at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. He did his internship in Surgery and his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Medical College of Virginia. Following his residency, he served on the faculty for five years prior to establishing a private practice in Richmond, Virginia. He returned to the Medical College of Virginia in the generalist group from 1987 to 1992. After travel with his family he returned to the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University full time in 1994. He obtained his Masters in Business Administration at Virginia Commonwealth University in 1998. His specialty interests include gynecologic surgery and gynecology. Dr. Cohen is a recipient of the APGO Excellence in Teaching Award and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) in April 2003.
